Valve has announced that from January 1, 2024, the Steam client will no longer work on Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 operating systems.

The company explained that the modern version of Steam uses the Chromium engine, which does not support older Windows operating systems. In addition, in the future Steam will require features and security updates that are only available on Windows 10 and higher.
