As noted by analysts, the majority of the amount — around $20 billion — will come from mobile games. Another $6.1 billion will be spent by Japanese and Korean players on PC games, and the remaining $3.2 billion on console games.
The decline is largely attributed to inflation in Japan. Analysts explain that the yen has been depreciating rapidly lately, so when converting players' expenses from yen to dollars, a decrease is observed. In yen, however, expenses remain relatively stable.
Analysts expect that by 2028, the revenue in the gaming market of Japan and South Korea will slightly increase and reach $30.8 billion.
