Immersion Corporation, a company specializing in feedback systems, filed a lawsuit against Valve. She claims that Steam Deck and Valve Index headsets violated seven of her patents at once.

Immersion Corporation wants to collect “reasonable compensation”. It also requires Valve to stop producing, testing, and otherwise using these devices.

As of the end of 2020, Immersion Corporation owned more than 1,700 patents. The company has repeatedly sued the manufacturers of equipment. In particular, she successfully sued Sony, Microsoft, Google and Apple, after which they were forced to sign license agreements. Immersion Corporation is now also involved in the proceedings against Meta, which is banned in Russia.
