It seems that the French publisher Voodoo no longer believes in the potential of hyper-casual games. Alexander Shea, who heads the publishing direction of the company, said during the PGC London 2023 conference that this genre is dead.

As an argument, Shi pointed out that not a single hyper-casual novelty Voodoo was able to achieve serious success last year. Only those titles that the company released before 2022 were really popular.

Voodoo has been specializing in hypercasual for a long time. At the end of last year, she announced that she would also start publishing casual and hybrid projects.
