The AdSense advertising service will soon cease to operate in Russia completely. Google has sent emails to Russian AdSense account holders warning them about the upcoming deactivation of their accounts.

The email states that AdSense users from Russia will receive their July payment between August 21-26 — this will be the last full-month payment. According to the service's rules, the payment will only be transferred to users whose payout amount exceeds the minimum threshold of $100.

Additionally, within 60 days, Google will "attempt" to pay Russians the remaining funds accumulated for the first half of August, "if [the account] has reached the closure threshold and payment reception has not been suspended."

Google's email to Russian AdSense account holders

AdSense allows monetization of ads on YouTube and various websites. In March 2022, Google banned Russians from creating new AdSense accounts and disabled ad display within the country. However, owners of previously created Russian accounts could continue generating ad revenue from an overseas audience.
