Bloomberg has published a letter from Gearbox Entertainment’s director of public Relations Dan Hewitt to the company’s employees. It confirms that the Swedish holding Embracer Group can sell the authors of Borderlands, and also lists other scenarios.
“The basic scenario is that Gearbox will remain part of Embracer,” Hewitt writes. “However, many options are being considered now, including transferring Gearbox to another company, separating Gearbox into an independent company, and others. Ultimately, we will choose the option that best suits both Gearbox and Embracer.”
At the end of the letter, Hewitt stressed that a final decision has not yet been made. He also warned that there could be a lot of speculation in the coming weeks.
