The social network Facebook has launched a page with game broadcasts and opened a new Level Up program designed to support video game streamers.

The interface of the Facebook gaming streams section is very similar to the design of the popular Twitch streaming platform. There is also a catalog of popular games and a list of current broadcasts, and the top of the page is occupied by a live broadcast window.

The announced Facebook system of monetary support for streamers also reminds of Twitch. Viewers of game streams will be able to buy Facebook Stars virtual currency for real money, and then transfer them to their favorite broadcast authors. Content creators on Twitch are monetized in the same way, only there the virtual currency is called Bits.

According to the analytical company Streamlabs, at the end of 2017, the Facebook platform ranked 4th in the number of active streamers, passing Twitch, YouTube Gaming and Periscope ahead. According to Streamlabs, gaming in the 4th quarter of last year, gaming broadcasts on Facebook were conducted by 27.5 thousand people.

As for the Level Up program, this is the next step in the development of the Gaming Creator Pilot Program, which Facebook launched in January 2018 in order to attract creators of gaming video content to its platform. Level Up participants will be able to receive donations from viewers and will have extended access to Facebook technical support along with other streaming opportunities.

To participate in the Level Up program, you need to create a separate page, gain at least 100 subscribers and stream games for at least 4 hours over the past 14 days.
