Epic Games has updated the lawsuit against Google, adding more details about Project Hug, a program designed to keep major developers on Google Play and prevent competition. According to the authors of Fortnite, Google has concluded at least 24 deals, including with Activision Blizzard.
According to the lawsuit, Google knew that Activision Blizzard was preparing to launch its own mobile app store. Such plans did not suit the company, so it offered to pay the publisher $ 360 million within three years for refusing to launch the marketplace. Activision Blizzard agreed to these terms, and then also promised to release mobile games first on Google Play and only then in other stores.
Google made a similar deal with Riot Games, which was also thinking about launching its own mobile marketplace. The company agreed to pay her $30 million during the year.
Details of the other 22 transactions were not disclosed.
Google has already stated that Epic Games distorted the situation, and Activision Blizzard called the information from the lawsuit “absurd.” Representatives of Riot Games declined to comment on the lawsuit.
