On May 2, Embracer Group announced the purchase of several studios from Square Enix, among which was Eidos Shanghai. Six months after the deal, the company decided to give Shanghai Eidos under the management of its “daughter” — Gearbox Publishing.
Now Eidos Shanghai will be called Gearbox Studio Shanghai. It became the first Asian Gearbox studio.
Gigi Ning, CEO of Eidos Shanghai, will continue to lead the studio.
