Additionally, the studio's head, David Anfossi, is leaving. He has been with Eidos-Montréal since the team's founding in 2007.

Eidos-Montréal wrote about the staff reduction on LinkedIn. According to the studio, it is parting ways with a total of 124 employees from the production and support teams as part of the layoffs.
The reason for the reshuffle is the "changed project needs" that Eidos-Montréal is working on. The studio did not provide details but noted in the publication that the layoffs would allow it to focus on what it does most efficiently.
As a reminder, Eidos-Montréal is currently assisting Playground Games with the new Fable and, according to rumors, is working on a game in the Alien universe as well as a yet unannounced AAAA title.
Eidos-Montréal is conducting layoffs for the third time in the past year. It was previously reported that in March 2025, the studio cut 75 people, and in November-December 2025, at least another dozen employees were let go.
