Indie bagel Darkest Dungeon II has sold over 500 thousand copies, according to developers from Red Hook Studios.
The developers said that they sold 270 thousand copies during the early access period, which started in the Epic Games Store in October 2021. The remaining copies were sold after the full release of the game on May 8, 2023.
For comparison: sales of the first Darkest Dungeon a week after the release exceeded 650 thousand copies (including copies purchased during early access and pre-orders on Kickstarter). Eight years later, the game’s circulation reached 6 million copies.
