Valve has released a free multiplayer shooter Counter-Strike 2. The game replaced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and became available to everyone.

Owners of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive simply need to download the update.

The game was released 11 years after the release of its predecessor. Counter-Strike 2 was created on the Source 2 engine. The game has updated classic maps, added a new lighting system, made reflections, smoke and water more realistic, improved the tick rate and changed many other points.

While the release of Counter-Strike 2 has not led to the growth of online on Steam. At the time of writing the news, 1,036,692 people are playing the shooter at the same time — this is the standard level for the game.
