On July 18, the period in which Microsoft planned to close the acquisition of Activision Blizzard expires. Bloomberg sources admit that the papers will not be signed today.

“The companies are not going to cancel the deal. However, they are interested in obtaining the final approvals necessary for the entry into force of the agreement,” Bloomberg reports.

Simply put, sources believe that Microsoft and Activision Blizzard are going to settle the conflict with the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) before closing the deal.

Ignoring the blocking may result in a fine of 5% of the total revenue of both companies.
