Journalist Jason Schreier from Bloomberg found out how the situation at 343 Industries changed after Microsoft announced large-scale layoffs.

According to Schreier, the studio lost at least 95 specialists, including dozens of veterans. Against the background of the cuts, it is not completely clear what awaits the Halo franchise now. However, Xbox executives told employees that 343 Industries will continue to be responsible for Halo, but it may have to develop games together with other studios.

Also, 343 Industries decided to abandon its own Slipspace Engine in favor of Unreal Engine — rumors about this have been going around since last October. According to the journalist, a game codenamed Tatanka is already being made on it.
