Ubisoft shared the initial results for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In less than 24 hours after its release, it engaged over a million players.

The company announced this on social media, thanking players for their support. However, Ubisoft did not disclose how the audience was distributed across platforms (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC).

Importantly, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is also available through the Ubisoft+ subscription, which costs $18 per month. Therefore, it is unclear how many of the million players purchased the game itself.

Previously, Ubisoft called the launch of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla the best in the franchise's history. The company did not reveal specific figures, merely noting that the game sold a record-breaking number for the series in the first week after its release on November 10, 2020. SuperData estimated the digital sales of the title at 1.7 million copies by the end of November (50% more than the starting figures of Odyssey). Valhalla also became the first game in the series with revenue exceeding one billion dollars.

While Ubisoft has yet to label the launch of Shadows as record-breaking, the public announcement of player stats indicates the company is pleased with the release.
