79.5% of Chinese PC gamers use Steam to play premium games, according to a report by the analytical company Niko Partners. Moreover, the overwhelming majority prefer the international version of the platform.

Analysts also found that this year, PC gamers in China have been spending more on games. 62% of surveyed users, who prefer playing on PC, reported an increase in spending. 19% of PC gamers admitted that they spent at least 30% more than in 2023 [a total of 1079 people participated in the survey—Ed.].

Additionally, mini-games are gaining significant popularity in China. Their audience has reached 650 million people.

44.5% of surveyed gamers said they discover new games through short video services like Douyin—the Chinese equivalent of TikTok.
