The Game Association has published a report on the situation on the German gaming market in 2022. According to him, the year was a record. For the first time in history, the market revenue exceeded the milestone of €9.87 billion.
However, the rate of revenue growth has slowed down. In 2022, the market earned only 1% more compared to the previous year. For comparison: in 2021, the growth was 17%, and in 2020 — 32%.
How were the expenses of German residents distributed:
▪️microtransactions in games — €4.45 billion (+2%);
▪️consoles, computers and other hardware — €3.48 billion (-3%);
▪️physical and digital editions of games — €1.05 billion (-1%);
▪️online gaming services — €866 million (+20%).
