The upcoming spy action game by IO Interactive is reportedly not in high demand, claims Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad. According to him, 007 First Light has not significantly attracted gamers who did not grow up with James Bond stories.

The analyst did not provide any figures but noted that the current metrics for 007 First Light are roughly comparable to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Meanwhile, the Uncharted series, which many compare the game to, sold much better at its time.

In Ahmad's opinion, IO Interactive is aware of the situation and is trying to rectify it. Initially, the developers conducted a traditional marketing campaign, but recently they have begun experimenting. For instance, they recently announced that 007 First Light would feature a cameo by popular TikToker Khaby Lame—he will meet Bond in Vietnam and help him navigate the area. The studio hopes that such Easter eggs will attract more people.

Nonetheless, Ahmad believes that eventually, 007 First Light will perform well. Whether this proves true will soon become clear.

The release of 007 First Light is set for tomorrow, May 27, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. This summer, the game will also be available on Nintendo Switch 2. As of mid-April, 007 First Light had over 3 million wishlists across all platforms.
