On February 21, the European Commission held a hearing on the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard. It is reported that during it, the head of PlayStation said that “he does not want to conclude a new agreement on Call of Duty, but just wants to block the deal.”
Jim Ryan‘s words were quoted on Twitter by Lulu Cheng Meservey, executive Vice president of Activision Blizzard for Corporate Affairs. She said that Microsoft offered Sony a 10-year contract to release Call of Duty on PlayStation consoles on much more favorable terms than Sony has ever received from Activision Blizzard. However, Sony has not yet agreed to sign it.
Sony did not comment on Cheng Meservi’s tweet.
