The UK government has reported that it is ready to satisfy 345 applications from local gaming companies for tax benefits (VGTR) for the period from April 2021 to March 2022. The state will return them £189 million.

The total refund amount was slightly less than for the period from spring 2020 to spring 2021. The drop was 6%. According to officials, the reason is that the number of applications for large refunds has decreased (more than £2 million).

At the same time, the number of applications itself remains approximately at the same level since the 2016-2017 fiscal year. Since that time, the number has traditionally been around 350. Before that, their number could not reach up to two hundred.

49% of all applications are for amounts of 50 thousand pounds or less. At the same time, in monetary terms, they are responsible for only 5% of the total annual payment. 78% of the amount will be paid to those companies that have requested a refund of more than 500 thousand pounds.
