Based on open sources App2Top.ru I collected in one material information about the gaming earnings of leading public companies based on the results of the recently ended second calendar quarter of this year.
In the top, rearranged in the publication, only the amounts earned by companies from the sale or operation of gaming software are indicated. In the event that a public company did not indicate the income received directly from the sale of games, it was not included in the table (which is why there is no, for example, Disney or Warner Bros in it).
For many public companies, the financial year differs from the calendar year, therefore, in order not to cause confusion, we do not write about the collected results in the table, as about the results of the second quarter. All data are presented based on the results of the three-month period ending on June 30 of this year.
Each company conducts its finances based on one or another accounting system. Therefore, in a number of points, we noted according to which accounting system a specific figure was taken (for example, GAAP). In most cases, companies reported quarterly results as revenue, without specifying the system.
Unfortunately, the data presented at the moment does not cover all gaming public companies, but with each new quarterly publication we plan to add more names.
