Media mogul Vincent Bollore’s Vivendi Corporation is going to acquire mobile developer and publisher Gameloft at a price of €6 per share.

Vivendi увеличил свою долю в Gameloft до 30

At least, she made such a proposal to the market regulator after she brought her stake in Gameloft to 30%.

According to Vivendy, the deal is beneficial to both parties.

Vivendi takeover will help on the way to becoming a “global leader” in the entertainment and media market, an important component of which is mobile games today. As for Gameloft, according to Bollore, it will be able to get “new levers” for its development.

The cost of Gameloft, based on an estimate of €6 per share, is $570 million.

Important: if the regulator approves the acquisition of Gameloft shares, Vivendi will make an “unfriendly purchase”, since the Guillemot family, which owns the mobile publishing house, opposes this.

Vivendi is also interested in the takeover of another – no less well-known – company of the Guillemot brothers – Ubisoft. The Bollore Empire already owns 11.5% of the latter.
