From April to June 2018, Ubisoft earned $444.8 million instead of the target $410.5 million. This is a record indicator of the company for the first fiscal quarter.

Compared to the same period last year, the company’s earnings increased by as much as 88.8%.

Ubisoft Executive Director Yves Guillemot highlighted several key factors of such a result: stable release of new games, work on their own franchises, active interaction with the fan community and, most importantly, the growth of digital sales due to the release of additional content to existing titles. Ubisoft is purposefully moving towards transferring its franchises to a service support model. Now digital sales bring the company 75.2% of revenue.

The company receives the main profit from North American gamers, but the share of other regions is growing compared to last year:

For the second financial quarter of Ubisoft, the company plans to earn $404.7 million – for comparison, in 2017, $310 million was earned during this time. Such revenue growth is predicted due to pre-orders of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which is released on October 5. For the whole year, the company intends to earn $2.4 billion.
