American Tilting Point has made a new acquisition. The strategic RPG Star Trek: Timelines, together with the development team, has completely passed into her hands.

The purchase amount is not called. But Star Trek: Timelines is quite a valuable asset. Since its release in 2016, the freeplay title has earned more than $100 million on mobile and PC (Steam and Amazon). Her downloads exceeded 8 million, writes VentureBeat.

The game was developed by Disruptor Beam studio. Since 2017, Tilting Point has participated in the project: funded UA, engaged in marketing and distribution. Now Star Trek: Timelines belongs to her completely.

As for Disruptor Beam, now she will actively start developing the Disruptor Engine for free games services.

What is Tilting Point planning

To support the title, the publisher has created a new studio — Wicked Realm Games. 19 employees of Disruptor Beam joined it. All of these are the key developers of the project, including former lead technologist David Cham. Wicked Realm Games will be headed by him.

Tilting Point plans to double the resources invested in the game. “We realized that we could scale Star Trek: Timelines, because there is a huge demand for the (Star Trek) brand,” the publisher’s management believes. In the same way, Tilting Point did with some other mobile projects on the market. Invested money in the promotion of an already released third-party game, and then acquired it.

Also recall that last July, Tilting Point invested $30 million in Mino. These are the developers of the mobile Cat Game The Cats Collector.
