Former lead Steam developer Rick Rick Ellis has raised $1.25 million in investments for the Sharkbite Games video game studio he founded.
Sharkbite Games received funding from several venture funds from Seattle.
The staff of Sharkbite Games consists of 8 people, many of whom previously worked with Ellis in other companies.
The studio team is developing two projects: a casual mobile game and a multiplayer title for PC and mobile platforms.
Rick Ellis worked at Valve for 6 years, where he was the lead developer of the Steam platform and participated in the creation of Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike.
Ellis also headed the studio Monolith Production, where such games as Condemned and F.E.A.R. 2 were released under his leadership.
