China’s gaming industry remains one of the fastest growing in the world. The turnover of the local video game market in the third quarter exceeded $10 billion, and more than half of this amount fell on mobile.Note: information about the state of the market was published by the South China Morning Post, and the State Association of Audio-video and Digital Publishing was engaged in compiling the report.

Main data for the third quarterThe market turnover amounted to $10.4 billion — 15.72% more in annual terms.

  • At the same time, the indicators were slightly lower than in the first quarter, which was the first wave of the pandemic. The number of gamers increased by 3.6 million and amounted to 661 million people (however, in September Niko Partners estimated China’s gaming audience at 720 million people).
