In 2016, about 40 VR and AR projects were launched in Russia. Most of them received investments in the amount of $ 15 thousand to $ 30 thousand.
Ekaterina Filatova, General Director of the Russian Association of Augmented and Virtual Reality, told RBC magazine about this.
First of all, we are talking about the launch of technology-based quests, zones in shopping malls and theme parks. In total, 150 companies “create [similar] game content and related attractions” in Russia.
The publication singled out among others the operator of traditional quests – Lostroom, who developed the game Cosmos (aka “Galaxy”) for 3 million rubles and engaged in selling its license to another operator.
