The Japanese company SoftBank, which owns 73% of the Clash of Clans developer studio, is considering selling its stake.
According to Bloomberg, the Japanese giant estimates Supercell at $5 billion. This means that she is asking for about $3.65 billion for her share.
An unnamed company from China acts as potential buyers.
At the moment, the deal is only being discussed. SoftBank may well not go for it.
Recall that in 2013, a Japanese company acquired 51% of Supercell for $1.5 billion.
SoftBank’s assets include not only the authors of Clash of Clans, but also GungHo, the developers of Puzzle & Dragons. The latter, we recall, has earned more Clash of Clans on Google Play over the past four years.
