According to Bloomberg, the Japanese bought about 7.5% – 10% of the California studio for $ 250 million (based on the cost of the entire company at $ 3 billion). And, according to rumors, they are going to invest about $ 1 billion in it by 2018.

The deal, on the one hand, will provide additional resources for the development of Legendary, on the other hand, SoftBank’s media channels will have access to the studio’s content.

The companies are also going to create a venture fund that will focus on the development of online and mobile services focused on India and China.

Japanese analyst Tomoaki Kawasaki believes that one of SoftBank’s tasks today is to buy companies that can work in synergy. It is possible that the new Legendary films will support Supercell and GungHo titles.
