The developer of social games Roblox closed the investment round with a result of $ 92 million. With this money, the company will hire employees to support 48 million players of the monthly audience of the Roblox MMO sandbox.
“We want to create the perfect playground — a place where children from all over the world can play, create, build and dream together,” said Roblox CEO David Baszucki.
Roblox was invested by Meritech Capital Partners and Index Ventures. Meritech Managing Director Craig Sherman and Index co-founder Neil Rimer will oversee the development of the project.
48 million people play Roblox every month. The game is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, iPod touch and Fire OS. Gamers can create their own games inside Roblox and even earn money from it — some teams receive up to $50 thousand a month thanks to their creations inside the MMO sandbox.
