The Overwatch multiplayer shooter earned $1 billion and became the fastest growing franchise in Blizzard’s history, according to Activision Blizzard’s financial report for the first quarter of 2017.
Overwatch became the 8th Activision Blizzard game, whose revenues reached $1 billion.
Also, thanks to Overwatch, in the last quarter Blizzard increased the MAU indicator to a record value of 41 million people, which is 58% more than in the same period a year earlier.
Today, 30 million people are registered in Overwatch. The game was released on May 24, 2016.
