At the end of January this year, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima announced the company’s intentions to sell 2 million Nintendo Switch consoles in the first month of sales. The British analytical company IHS Markit predicts 4.4 million consoles sold by the end of 2017.
The Nintendo Switch is a hybrid set—top box consisting of several modules: a tablet, two detachable Joy-Con controllers and a docking station that simultaneously serves as a charging and base for connecting the console to TVs and monitors.
