Another gaming company summed up the results of the last financial quarter. Next up is the South Korean Netmarble. In three months, it generated ₩642 billion ($535 million), which is 3.6% more than last year’s result.


The main thing from the report:

  • Netmarble’s net profit rose to ₩93 billion or $77 million in the third quarter. The difference from the same period in 2019 is 9.2%;
  • The company’s revenue for July-September 2020 amounted to ₩642 billion ($535 million). It grew by 3.6% year-on-year, but fell by 6.3% compared to the previous quarter;
  • Western countries brought the most money to the publisher again. Its revenues abroad turned out to be equal to 75% of total revenue at once — ₩479 billion ($399 million). By the way, a year ago, the west was responsible for only 68% of Netmarble’s revenue;
  • Leading regions in terms of player spending: North America (38%), Korea (25%) and Europe (12%);

  • as for games, RPG has become the most moneyed genre. It accounted for 40% of Netmarble’s 40% revenue. The second and third places went to casual titles (25%) and MMORPG (23%);
  • The most profitable project turned out to be The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, which collected 17% of the company’s revenue. Marvel Contest of Champions is a little behind — 15% of revenue;

  • the company is making positive plans for the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021. In November, she has already launched two titles: Seven Knights — Time Wanderer (released on the Nintendo Switch) and A3: Still Alive. Also, five more games will be released in the near future.
