Chinese developer and publisher NetEase has invested $100 million in Bungie Studio. The companies have entered into a partnership in which they will work together on “new directions,” Bungie reported.

Under the terms of the deal, NetEase received a share of Bungie shares and a seat on the company’s board of directors.

“NetEase’s resources and experience will help us create new worlds for our players,” reads a post on the studio’s website.

Representatives of the American company also promised that the partnership with the Chinese publisher will not affect the development of Bungie’s flagship franchise — the online shooter Destiny 2.

Through a partnership with NetEase, Bungie can enter the Chinese gaming market after Blizzard, which has been cooperating with the Chinese publisher since 2008. NetEase officially publishes Overwatch, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and other Blizzard titles in China.
