From April to June 2018, Ubisoft earned $444.8 million instead of the target $410.5 million. This is a record indicator of the company for the first fiscal quarter.
Compared to the same period last year, the company’s earnings increased by as much as 88.8%.
Ubisoft Executive Director Yves Guillemot highlighted several key factors of such a result: stable release of new games, work on their own franchises, active interaction with the fan community and, most importantly, the growth of digital sales due to the release of additional content to existing titles. It can also be noted that the share of revenue from PlayStation has significantly decreased over the year, although this platform remains the main one for the company:
For the second financial quarter of Ubisoft, the company plans to earn $404.7 million – for comparison, in 2017, $310 million was earned during this time. Such revenue growth is predicted due to pre-orders of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which is released on October 5. For the whole year, the company intends to earn $2.4 billion.
