The Israeli game developer and publisher Plarium was acquired for $500 million by the public company Aristocrat, the largest manufacturer of slot machines in Australia.

The current CEO of Plarium, Avraham Shalel, will continue to lead the company. Together with him, 12 more key managers agreed to remain in the company until 2020. These are the conditions for receiving additional payments based on the results of the developer’s activities.

According to Aristocrat CEO Trevor Croker, the acquisition of Plarium allows Aristocrat to expand the company’s target market from a $3.2 billion segment of social casinos to a $25.4 billion slice of the market covering strategic, casual and role-playing genres.

It is reported that the deal will be officially closed in December 2017.

Recall that in May there were rumors about the sale of Plarium to an unnamed Australian company for $ 1.4 billion. Of these, the developer was to receive $ 500 million immediately, and the rest of the money as a deferred payment.

The head office of Plarium is located in Herzliya, Israel. The developer also has studios and offices in Russia, Ukraine, the USA and the UK.
