Taiwanese mobile device manufacturer HTC is going to invest $100 million in its own business incubator for developers of virtual reality software.
It’s called the Vive X accelerator. He will work in three cities – Beijing, San Francisco and Taipei.
As part of the incubator, developers will be helped with development tools, money (from $ 80 thousand to $ 200 thousand) and experience. Support for other VR platforms (not just HTC Vive) in the projects under development will not be prohibited.
It is clear that for HTC itself, as one of the manufacturers of VR devices, an incubator is a necessity. Today, the main thing on every platform is content. There is not so much VR content yet.
