The Japanese mobile publisher gumi inc, in partnership with the Norwegian film studio Nordisk Film, has created a business incubator with a budget of € 100 thousand to support novice VR developers.

The program will provide participants with initial funding, provide workspaces and back office services. Specialists from gumi and Nordisk will advise the authors in their work on VR projects.

Scandinavia is rich in creative and engineering talents in the gaming and film industries. We aim to ensure that these talents develop in the VR market thanks to our resources and experience.

Additional funds for research and development will be allocated by the Finnish financial agency Tekes, since the Finnish Virtual Reality Association also participates in the support program.

In recent months, gumi has increased its support for the VR industry by signing a cooperation agreement with the EUVR non-profit organization to invest in European virtual reality developers.
