The profit of the Japanese mobile developer GREE for the 2017 fiscal year (ended June 30) fell by 44% to $72.5 million.
The company’s sales also decreased by 5.5% to 592 million.
Along with this, GREE launched 4 new titles in Japan over the last quarter, and all of them were in the top 20 highest-grossing mobile games.
The most successful GREE game was the role-playing game SINoALICE, created in collaboration with game designer Yoko Taro. It has gained 2 million downloads and took first place in the chart of the most profitable titles.
In July 2017, GREE closed three overseas game development offices and focused on creating and promoting titles for the Japanese market.
