The British studio Space Ape Games in the framework of GDC Europe 16 told how much money its strategies inspired by the Supercell project received.

Space Ape Games на клонах Clash of Clans заработала более $56 млн

The revenues of the studio’s first game, Samurai Siege, released in September 2013, have now reached $37 million. Half of the amount received by the game over the past year, Space Ape Games collected from in-game events (events).

Released in March 2015, Rival Kingdoms earned more than $19 million. Over the past six months, 27% of the game’s profit has also been generated by events within the game.

According to Simon Hade, chief Operating Officer of Space Ape Games, with the help of events, developers can double their LTV from the product. But caution is necessary here, because events – if configured incorrectly, can cannibalize the main source of income of the game.

Space Ape Games did not tell about the income of its third strategy – Transformers: Earth Wars, released by Backflip Studios.
