Electronic Arts has announced the results of the first financial quarter of 2016. The total MAU of the company’s mobile projects fell by 15 million. But this did not prevent the revenue from digital sales to grow.

For the company, the first fiscal quarter of 2016 ended on June 30 of this year. Total sales revenue decreased from $775 million to $693 million (non-GAAP) compared to the same period last year. At the same time, revenues from digital sales increased significantly, from $482 million in the 1st quarter of 2015 to $532 million in the 1st quarter of 2016.

Of these, mobile accounted for $122 million, 2% more than in the 1st quarter of 2015.

Interestingly, the total MAU of the company’s games decreased by 15 million in one quarter. At the end of March, this number was 165 million, and at the end of June it was already 150. Despite the fact that the profit from mobile has increased, and there have been no high-profile releases, it can be assumed that EA has improved the monetization of existing projects. Of these, we recall that Real Racing 3, The Simpsons: Tapped Out, SimCity BuildIt and a number of sports franchise games remain the most profitable.

In addition, the company’s market capitalization (that is, its total value of its market shares and bonds) amounted to $1.8 billion, which is 12% less than in the previous fiscal quarter. It ended for EA on March 31, 2015.
