On September 30, Electronic Arts ended the second fiscal quarter of 2016. Its results were not the most favorable for the mobile division.
The fact is that over the last quarter EA earned 2% less on mobile games than a year earlier. This may not seem like a very serious loss (and indeed, well, the company earned $ 113 million against $115 million, is that a big difference), if not for one moment.
A year earlier, the division’s revenue growth for the same period was 64%.
Perhaps the fact is that this time the company has saved the main mobile releases of this year for October-November. We are talking about Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, which is still in a soft launch in Russia, and about Minions Paradise, which has just appeared in the world’s App Store.
So this time the company’s cash register was recruited by old projects and a new FIFA.
But there is also good news for EA. Digital sales of console games increased by 34% over the year.
