Returning Call of Duty to the World War II setting turned out to be a good idea. Call of Duty: WWII became the main driver of the growth of the video game market in the United States in November. The latter grew by 30% to $2.7 billion.

This is reported by the analytical company NPD Group.

NPD also recognized Call of Duty: WWII as the best-selling game in the United States since the beginning of 2017, and its cash collections surpassed the results of all previous parts of the series over the past 5 years.

According to the NPD Group, Activision Blizzard remains the highest-grossing game publisher this year in the States.

In general, in November, sales of titles for PC and consoles (including portable ones) rose by 19% to $1.2 billion compared to the same period last year.

Sales of gaming PCs and consoles at the same time rose to $1.1 billion.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One became the driver of sales of gaming hardware in November. At the end of the month, the PS4 became the best-selling console in the US since the beginning of the year, and Xbox One sales were higher than in any previous November.
