Yesterday’s Facebook Connect conference was not limited to the announcement of Oculus Quest 2 VR glasses. Another news is that in a year and a half, the Oculus Quest library has accumulated several dozen projects that have earned from a million dollars or more.
According to Facebook Content director Mike Verdu, millionaire apps have raised $70 million in a year and a half since the headset was released. For comparison, a year ago, the total total revenue of software for Oculus Quest was $ 20 million.
Verdoux did not tell how the amount was distributed between the projects, but noted two titles:
- Onward, created by the studio Downpour Creative, collected $ 1 million in the first four days after the launch (so far this is a record for the speed of box office recruitment on the platform);
- Survival simulator Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted, which generated $1 million in eight days from launch.
Verdoux also expressed hope that next year will give no less impressive figures.
On Facebook Connect, viewers were shown a lot of titles for Quest 2, including exclusives. For example, VR versions of Assassin Creed and Splinter Cell were announced exclusively for Oculus helmets.
