One of the most popular gaming services will soon receive a residence permit for iOS and Android, Twitch developers reported on the pages of their official blog.

Recall that Twitch allows you to conduct live video game broadcasts. In other words, users can use it to show how they play a particular game, and at the same time comment on the whole thing out loud (and even on video, if there is a webcam). Other users, respectively, can comment on what they see in the chat.

Until recently, it was possible to conduct such broadcasts only from PCs and consoles. But very soon mobile players will also get this opportunity. However, they will only be able to stream the gameplay in those games whose developers will implement the Twitch SDK.

What exactly will this SDK allow you to do with the game? The list is long:

  • Capture and broadcast game video and audio;
  • Capture video from the front camera;
  • Capture audio from an optional or built-in microphone;
  • Instant access to watching videos on Twitch and the ability to share it;
  • The ability to broadcast in three types of quality: low, medium and high;
  • Wide chat functionality: stickers, colors, etc.;
  • Easy finding of thematically-related broadcasts of other players.

The MAU of the Twitch service on PC and consoles in August last year reached the 45 million mark. The most popular are broadcasts of PvP games, such as League of Legends and DOTA. Although, for example, more than 1 million people took part in the massive passage of Pokémon Red.

But will Twitch be so popular on mobile devices?

The app of the same name, already present on the App Store and Google Play and allowing you to watch broadcasts, has already been downloaded more than 10 million times. But will people share their passage of the next Flappy Bird?
