The age of paying players differs little from project to project, but the gender differentiation of the paying audience strongly depends on the type of game.

Clash Of Clans

Scientists from the University of Southern California came to a similar conclusion after conducting a large-scale study of 776 million payments made from March 2014 to June 2015 with iOS.

They published the results of their work as part of the scientific publication iPhone’s Digital Marketplace: Characterizing the Big Spenders.

It turned out that at the time of monitoring, the leaders in fees were Clash of Clans, Candy Crush Saga, Game of War, Boom Beach and Hay Day. Scientists also shared information on paying users of these projects.

The average age of paying players ranges around 35 years. Clash of Clans has it slightly lower – 33 years, Candy Crush Saga players have it slightly higher – 40 years.

The gender of the paying player strongly depends on the game. For example, in Boom Beach, only 18% of paying players are women. But on Hay Day they prevail – 67%.
