The turnover of the Russian “desktop” MMO market fell by 13% in September compared to August. At the same time, the average check, on the contrary, has grown a little – by 5%.
About this App2Top.ru The WebMoney Transfer settlement system and the PayMaster payment acceptance service have been informed.
In general, such a drop is an unusual situation, since August is traditionally a “vacation” month: in September, many return to their usual working routine. Also, by September, schoolchildren and students who are an important part of the gaming audience are returning from dachas and camps.
Tatiana Milacheva, Director of Marketing Communications at WebMoney Transfer, explained in an interview with us the decline in turnover “by the lack of noticeable premieres in September.”
Despite the decline in turnover, players of popular MMO projects began to spend more in terms of each player – the average check increased by 5% and amounted to 767 rubles.
Last year, a slightly different trend was observed: turnover in September last year increased by 21% compared to August, and the average check added 7%.
