In the search results of the App Store, you can again advertise games from Russian publishers. Apple has returned Russia to the list of countries with access to Search Ads.

A year and a half ago, the corporation blocked the service for publishers from Russia. This was Apple’s response to changes in Russian tax legislation, according to which foreign companies with branches in the Russian Federation cannot pay VAT through tax agents.

But yesterday, April 26, the creators of the App Store updated the terms of use of Search Ads, adding a special item for Russia. According to him:

  • the services of the service can now be used by content providers registered or located in the Russian Federation or subject to its jurisdiction;
  • The Irish branch of Apple will work with the advertising of Russian games.

Search Ads is an advertising service of Apple Corporation. It allows publishers of iOS games to buy advertising space in the App Store search. The apps advertised in this way appear at the top of the screen on a blue background, which increases their visibility in the store.

According to Apple, Search Ads is available in more than 50 countries. The service was first launched outside the United States in 2017.
