The company analyzed the preferences in games and the purchasing habits of players, on the basis of which it divided them into seven categories:

  • hardcore mobile players
  • browser “casuals”
  • fans of native games
  • fans of free-to-play
  • hardcore console players
  • mobile “casuals”
  • “casuals”

Of these categories, fans of free-to-play, hardcore mobile players and fans of native games tend to spend the most money on IAP.

The division is quite conditional. Many users enjoy playing both shareware and paid games with equal pleasure: only 10% of fans of premium projects reported that they would refuse to play an F2P title.

It also turned out that 28% of those who pay for games are willing to spend money on in-game purchases in shareware titles. At the same time, in the category of free-to-play fans, only 20% of those who pay for IAP.
