Which search queries related to games were most popular in the territories of the USA and Russia in July, – App2Top.ru the representative of AdvertMobile told.

At the beginning, I want to draw attention to three small but important points in our report.

1. The most popular query in most cases directly corresponds to a specific game. But often this is not due to the real popularity of the application (its virality), but to the fact that developers use promotion to the Top in search queries and in “trending searches”. Motivated traffic is the most effective and accessible in this case.

2. What users play depends heavily on the type of device. Therefore, we did a separate analysis on the iPhone and iPad.

In general, games and entertainment are searched for much more often on Apple tablets than on smartphones. On the iPhone, search queries for other types of applications are more popular: messengers, photo and video processing programs, and so on.

3. Each infographic prepared by us shows:

  • Top 10 gaming requests for July 2017 on a specific platform and device type;
  • the number of hours that the query was at the top of “trending searches”;
  • Top 5 apps by specific request for July.

According to the top, the gaming preferences of the American audience on the smartphone are clearly visible. In most cases, we are talking about simple games with a short session that require a minimum of involvement and are played when the screen is positioned vertically. The term “timekillers” is ideal for them.

Entertainment on tablets is more serious. The first three requests relate to MMO projects. But there was a place for verbal puzzles here, although the search for the domestic survival Last Days on Earth closes the top ten.

Top of the most popular gaming queries in Russia

Judging by the rating of search queries and games that correlate with them, the Russian audience actively uses smartphones for serious games. Along with social casinos and minimalistic iPhone games, users are looking for adventures and MOBA projects.

At the same time, tablets turn out to be mainly a children’s gaming and entertainment platform. Four out of ten search queries give out products primarily aimed at children.
